Why Temple Exists
Smartwatches measure movement.Temple measures what your brain experiences.
The Wrist
Conventional Smartwatch
- Heart RateSurface
- CaloriesSurface
- StepsSurface
Movement-derived signals, captured through the densest tissue and the noisiest placement on the body.
The Temple
Temple
- Entropy
- Metabolic State
- Brain Blood Flow
- Recovery
- Stress Response
- Focus
A cleaner physiological window — read at the superficial temporal artery, interpreted as metabolic and cerebral state.
How Temple Works
Four signals that describe the state of the whole system.
Real-Time Brain Blood Flow
Temple is worn on the temple, where the superficial temporal artery sits close to the skin — providing a cleaner signal than the wrist, according to the company's positioning.
Entropy
Instead of simply measuring activity, Temple estimates the metabolic and sympathetic demand placed on your body — a single number for the true cost of your day.
Recovery
Every session leaves a signature. Temple traces it from load to readiness so you know exactly when to push and when to hold back.
Sleep & Cognitive Recovery
Overnight, Temple follows cerebral perfusion and rest quality to produce a recovery score that reflects the brain, not just the body.
Designed for Every High Performer
Six lives. One physiology worth understanding.
Why Temple?
A different category of signal.

The Science, Explained
Understand the metrics before you wear them.
What is cerebral blood flow?
Cerebral blood flow describes the volume of blood delivered to brain tissue over time. It carries the oxygen and glucose your brain burns during focused work, stress and recovery. Because it responds within seconds to cognitive and physical demand, it is one of the most direct windows into how your brain is actually coping — something wrist-based heart rate cannot show.
What is metabolic health?
Metabolic health is how efficiently your body produces and uses energy: glucose handling, oxygen delivery, autonomic balance and the speed at which you return to baseline after load. Tracking metabolic state continuously reveals patterns — poor sleep, under-recovery, chronic stress — long before they appear as symptoms.
What is Entropy in wearable technology?
Entropy is Temple's proprietary metric for the total metabolic and sympathetic demand placed on your system. Rather than counting movement, it estimates the cost of everything you did — training, travel, decision-making, poor sleep — as one interpretable number that trends across the day.
Brain health vs heart health
Heart-rate metrics describe circulation at the pump. Brain-focused metrics describe delivery at the destination. Two people can share an identical resting heart rate while their cerebral perfusion and cognitive recovery diverge completely. Temple is built for the second question.
Temple vs Apple Watch
The Apple Watch is an excellent general-purpose wrist computer: heart rate, steps, calories, notifications. Temple is a single-purpose performance instrument measuring cerebral blood flow and Entropy at the temple, where the superficial temporal artery gives a cleaner physiological signal than the wrist.
Temple vs WHOOP
WHOOP pioneered strain and recovery scoring from wrist optics. Temple extends that thinking to the head: instead of inferring load from heart-rate variability alone, it reads cerebral perfusion directly and expresses demand as Entropy, with recovery, focus and stress response derived from it.
Premium wearable for founders
Founders operate in long cognitive sprints where fatigue is invisible until it is expensive. A premium wearable for founders should measure cognitive cost, not activity. Temple maps focus capacity and stress response across a working week so the highest-leverage decisions land on your best hours.
Recovery tracking wearable
A recovery tracking wearable should answer one question: are you ready today? Temple traces the full arc — workout, stress, recovery, readiness — using overnight cerebral perfusion and metabolic trends to produce a recovery score grounded in brain state, not just resting heart rate.
